Kawaii Japan (3rd Day - Skytree Tower)

Touching the sun..

Skytree is the second place "the most wanted place I really want to go" after Disney Sea. It because this tower is the tallest tower in the world. So, as usual, I started from Ikebukuro station.
It cost 190 yen / IDR 19.000 / USD 2
By the way, when you take train as your transportation, make sure you keep this ticket until you exit. Because you can't go exit without the ticket. Also for you who want to take the picture, do it before you go exit because however you can't keep this ticket.

From Ikebukuro to Skytree, it took around an hour totally (include walking from my hotel - Ikebukuro station - Skytree). And here it is: Skytree!!
Because of I went in Saturday, so it has plenty of visitor like me. To get a fast pass ticket, I took a brochure as my pre-ticket that distributed for free.
Fast-pass ticket
Announcement Board
By taking this fast-pass you now exactly what time you can buy the real ticket. But you can also enter without this fast pass, you can stand directly in a line. Because there was 2 different lines, fast pass line and general line.

Whilst waiting until 05.00 pm, we decided to had a lunch in the mall beside the Skytree. Here my lunch at Dennys Restaurant.
Rice, meet hamburger, shrimp, fruit salad, vegetables and orange juice
Actually my menu is for kids, but it because I still feel full with my dorayaki as my breakfast. My lunch it cost around 700 yen something, but less than 800 yen / IDR 80.000.

In Skytree, it has a lot of store who sells souvenir. I bought some, but I didn't take a photo, I wasn't sure why, but probably I was too excited to go to Skytree.

Time goes by and it was 04.45 pm. I decided to go near the entrance door to buy ticket.
Visitors in fast pass line
Although it was crowded, but it was very orderly queue so it made the process go faster. This is one thing that I love from Japan, everything is discipline in the line. It only take less than 20 minutes for me to get the ticket. Let's go up up up!

Skytree ticket cost 2000 yen / IDR 200.000 for 350 meters

So there's 2 choices of ticket. 2000 yen for 350 meters or 3000 yen for reaching elevation more than 400 meters. But I thought I was happy enough in the 350 meters for seeing Tokyo.

After buy the ticket, it has a hand bag check. It made me not realised that my ticket fallen on the floor. Then suddenly there was an old women took it for me and came it back. Arigatogosaimas.. What a careless of me Aditha!

Okay, stop blaming myself, it's time to enjoy the view. In order to get 350 meters, the visitor should take the elevator which is bring 40 person per session. It has 3 elevators so it can reach 120 person at one time. And you know, the interior inside the elevator was wonderful. It was so good.

It only need less than a minute (exactly 51 second) to reach 350 meters though. It moved smooth but I thought it was reduction air pressure so that makes my ears hurt. The same feeling like when the airplane take off.

And.. Here Skytree in the 350 meters.

From here, I obviously can see Tokyo.
Inside, there is also has cafe for having a drink.

I also captured another pictures inside.

Honestly it was an accidentally that considering the time, I could see the sunset from Skytree. It was so amazing experience in Japan. And I could 'touch' the sun with my hand!
It was so good, wasn't it?

So if you want to see the sunset too, make sure you have to come around 05.00 pm. Because the sunset was around 06.30 pm at that time (in June 2013).

After watching sunset, I decided to finish my time in Skytree because I continued my trip to go to Sensoji temple near from there.

You can see about my experience in Sensoji temple in my nest post.

Thank you for reading.

Love,

Aditha
